WEST VIRGINIA THERAPEUTIC RECREATION ASSOCIATION
BOARD MEETING
9/11/04

Those present: Sandy Bertosh, Wendy Coe-Loftis, Julie Daff, Paula McNamara, Owen Walker.

Meeting was called to order by Owen.

Minutes from May 1, 2004 meeting were read with one correction noted. Wendy made motion to accept minutes. Paula seconded motion. Motion carried.

Sandy presented the treasure’s report.
Treasure’s report:
Checking: $4,097.26
Savings: $7,347.95
CD: $4,936.87
Total: $16,382.08

Wendy made motion to accept report. Paula seconded the motion. Motion passed.

Committee Reports:

Conference – Owen will mail conference information to membership. Charlie will do mailings to surrounding states.

ATRA – Carol Sinsel has made a request for state basket. Last year we gave $50.00. She has indicated this was difficult to work with. Sandy made motion to give Carol $100.00 for basket for ATRA. Wendy seconded. Motion passed.

Membership - No report.

CAD - Board would like to have a CAD on the board.

CTRS – No report.

President’s report : Owen thanked everyone for coming to meeting. Thanks to Charlie for his work for the conference and to Carol for ATRA work and ballots for election. The Governor signed proclamation for TR week in July. Thanks to Becky Berlin for promoting TR week. Ann has not received any nominations for awards. We need to toot our own horns. It is too late to nominate. Continuing to upgrade Civil Service positions. Board’s help will be needed in the future. A thank you note was received from Jeremiah for sponsorship. Frank Blake has resigned his position of president elect. There is some concerns for officers for next year. September 15, 2004 is the deadline for nominations.

New Business: Sandy presented request for Geri Active camp sponsorship for $300.00 from Peterson Hospital. Wendy made motion to give $200.00. Julie seconded the motion. Motion carried. Sandy brought up discussion regarding partial scholarship for TR student. It was suggested this be discussed at the next open board meeting.

Next meeting is October 19, 2004 at 9:45 pm in Morgantown.

Wendy made motion to adjourn the meeting. Julie seconded the motion. Meeting was adjourned.
