Members present: Paula McNamara, Owen Walker, Shelly McHenry, Wendy Coe-Loftis, Elizabeth Ransom, Julie Daff

Meeting called to order by Owen.

Minutes from 5/12/03 were approved. Wendy made motion and Liz second. Motion carried.

Treasurer’s report: Checking $4,937.53
Savings 7,333.55
CD 4,936.87
$17,207.95

Received a check from Tom Lash from a conference 2 years ago for $145.00
Julie made motion to accept report and Paula second. Motion carried.

Committee reports:

Conference -Shelly reports she is in process of getting CEU’s approved from ATRA. Conference registration fee has been set. Registration is $190.00 after Oct. 1 it will be $210. Lunch for the 15th is included. Student registration is $20.00 after Oct 1 it will be $40.00. There will be a board meeting on the 15th at 4:15 p.m.

Computer - Charlie continues to put information on web site. Send him training opportunities.

Newsletter- Hoping to put one out after conference.

SRAC – No report.

ATRA – Carol would like to $65.00 to purchase a basket for the ATRA conference. Wendy made a motion to give $50.00 for basket and Paula second. Motion carried.

Membership – We now have 48 members.

Education – No report.

CAD – No report

CTRS – No report

President’s report: Owen and Wendy attended a Alzheimer’s sponsored event that offered ATRA CEU’s. Information for training events will be on web. Owen gave the program director, Nancy Cipoletti information regarding CEU’s from ATRA. Owen is now a member of the Activity Director’s Association. There have been 2 mailings to members since last board meeting. The first mailing was approved WVTRA minutes from the May 12th meeting and passing along various information about WVTRA activities. The second mailing contained information and guidelines on how to nominate persons and programs for WVTRA awards. Owen attended Park and Recreation meeting. He will attend HIV/Aids training Oct. 9th.

Old business: Pressley Ridge Ice Cream Sundae tickets have WVTRA printed on back. Advertisement for this event will include WVTRA. It will be in the newspaper 3 times and on a banner. WVRC will receive 10 tickets and the remaining tickets will go to CAMC or a nursing home.
Governor Wise declared July as TR month. WVTRA received a thank you note from Jeremiah for funds used for track and field.

New Business: We will be electing offices for treasurer, CTRS, and president elect.

Liz made a motion to adjourn. Julie second. Meeting adjourned 1:30 p.m.
